ENVIRON have developed an interesting method of providing an
activated sludge biological treatment system that comprises an aeration tank
with an integral clarifier. The ADVENT Integral System (AIS) has no moving parts and the system
requires no return activated sludge (RAS) pumps as the sludge is recirculated internally. All the system needs is compressed air for the
aeration system and the air lift pump used to provide flow to the internal
clarifier.
